The CDC estimated 7800 new cases of heterosexual females diagnosed with HIV in 2010. The number of cases continues to increase among females both young and old and our youth seem not to care. For many young people, their first thoughts about HIV/AIDs are “Magic Johnson is living and healthy”. Some even think they can take a pill and easily live out the rest of their lives. Bridgette, a 41 year old African America woman, has been living with HIV/AIDs since she was 19 years old and tells a different story. Girls Talk TV traveled to Philadelphia, PA to sit down with her and ask her how it all happened. How did she cope afterwards? What can we do to help stop the spread of this epidemic?
